“What I did with my summer vacation”

Well, what a pushy blog.  They made the first post for me?  Sheesh.  Now I have to actually write something here, to replace their dorky, “Hi!  This is a blog entry” blog entry.

And here I was, planning to leave the blog sitting and waiting until I was good and ready to introduce myself.

So… about me.  I’m just another public school teacher, often frustrated with the system.  I’ve been around the block more than most; I’m currently at my third district, and I’ve taught elementary, middle and high school classes.  I’m certified to teach a slew of subjects, but really only qualified to teach about three of them (but that’s a different rant – I’ll get to it, I’m sure, so just hold your horses).

I also have experience with homeschooling and Montessori (mostly through friends and family), so I pretty much feel I know it all.  (Don’t all teachers?)

I am a proud member of TSTA/NEA, so expect to see links to their pages often.

That’s about it for now, because I still have a few weeks of Glorious Summer left before I’m due to report for Fun and Exciting Staff Development, so I’m off to enjoy the freedom while I still have it.

Mrs. T.

  • I see your enthusiastic about your union membership. At some point can you write a post about the importance of joining a teaching union? I know it’s important, but I can’t figure out why, exactly, and I’m having a hard time justifying spending $550 of my first year teacher salary on joining the district/state/national union (NEA).
